CNTR
Are you an investigator interested in conducting multicenter, clinical research in the care of trauma patients?
Are you a leader in a professional organization interested in supporting trauma research?
The Coalition for National Trauma Research was established in 2014 by the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Western Trauma Association, and the National Trauma Institute. The American Burn Association, Orthopedic Trauma Association, Society of Trauma Nurses, Military Health System Strategic Partnership of the ACS, and the American Trauma Society’s Trauma Survivors Network have all recently joined as well.
The Mission of CNTR is to enhance trauma research in the U.S. by:
- Advocating for sustainable research funding commensurate with the burden of disease
- Coordinating research efforts across professional organizations that span the continuum of injury care
- Strengthening the infrastructure for multicenter investigation.
Opportunities for WTA Members
The Summit on the Advancement of Focused Equity Research in Trauma (SAFER-Trauma) is designed to help the trauma research community identify and characterize current gaps in trauma health disparities research, define funding mechanisms and pathways for collaboration, and outline a research agenda targeted at reducing and eliminating health disparities in trauma care.
The meeting will convene thought leaders on innovations related to gun violence prevention, injury prevention, and the promise of GIS systems and Artificial Intelligence to identify and address disparities. WTA members may attend the conference online free of charge. Registration for both in-person and virtual attendance by clicking the button below.
Primary manuscripts reporting the results of trauma research gap Delphi surveys are published in the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and have been gathered into a Collection, accessible from the JTACS website menu. Researchers can request data from one, several, or all panels, and analyses can be conducted within or across panels using the taxonomy tags. To sign up for an upcoming NTRAP webinar to learn more about the data available, to submit a data request, or to review the results of the project’s other aims, including an Investigator Toolkit for Regulatory Challenges, click the button below.
Join the CNTR Investigator Database to match your research interests with funding opportunities, connect to mentees or mentors, and become part of our robust network of multi-center, multidisciplinary projects. WTA members can register for the database by clicking the button below.
Finally, submit a project for potential CNTR collaboration. CNTR is a national coordinating center for multi-center trauma investigations, providing an array of robust research management services for investigators and institutions.
